New Teams Integration Gives you Something to Talk about after Dynamics 365 April 2019 Release
Updates seem like a microscopic part of running a business, but very small changes can have a large impact on the efficiency and ease of your day-to-day activities. This April update provides access to new features which can help drive your business forward. Every Dynamics update should leave you with increased functionality but this April we see exciting changes in the way Dynamics and Microsoft Teams work together.
One of the most buzz-worthy aspects of the April update is the integration of Dynamics and Teams. Formerly Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams is cloud-based team collaboration software that is part of the Office 365 suite of applications. The core capabilities in Microsoft Teams include business messaging, calling, video meetings and file sharing. Businesses of all sizes can use Teams.
What is unique with this product and where competitors like Slack cannot compete is the ease in which Dynamics allows you to add a range of Microsoft and third-party apps. For example - If you are working on an opportunity or case in your CRM, you can click on the “collaborate” option and you will be taken to Teams where you can update management or your team on progress, ask for subject matter expertise or bring in specialists from outside your organisation. With organisations increasingly using Microsoft Teams to support their internal communications, new functionality will enable any Dynamics 365 record to be connected to a Teams channel including SharePoint, OneDrive and Power BI.
Today’s sales process often requires sales reps to collaborate across departments when working on a sales opportunity. McKinsey reports that on average, sales reps need to collaborate with 16 colleagues to close a deal. The Dynamics 365 app for Microsoft Teams enables sales reps to collaborate more effectively using Microsoft Teams.
Microsoft Teams is available in several Office 365 plans, including business, education, enterprise and non-profit packages. Teams has no free tier and does not offer stand-alone pricing.
